Top-5 finish in Labor Day Showdown at Boyd's Speedway

Kicking off his Labor Day weekend, Jensen Ford invaded Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) on Friday afternoon for the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series-sanctioned Labor Day Showdown. In a field of 23 cars, Ford’s second fastest qualifying time in his group locked him into the fourth-starting position for the opening night feature. With $4,000 on the line, Jensen ran a steady pace throughout the 40-lapper to finish fourth. He trailed Donald McIntosh, Sam Seawright, and Cruz Skinner across the line with Jason Croft coming in fifth.

Joining the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series on Saturday at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the Scorcher 100, Jensen recorded a third-place finish in his heat, which positioned him ninth on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Getting caught in a tangle on the opening circuit, Ford was one of three cars that retired without completing a circuit.

Sunday's Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series event at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Jensen remains leading the Iron-Man Southern Series point standings.
