“It was another great night for us at Volunteer Speedway,” said Ford. “We’ve shown a lot of speed this season and Saturday night was no exception. I want to thank all of our awesome sponsors for their continued support. I’m looking forward to this weekend.”
After recording the second fastest time of the 18-car field in time trials, Ford lined up outside the front row next to Cameron Weaver for the 25-lap feature. At the drop of the green flag, Weaver got the advantage over Ford to lead the opening lap.
In the closing laps, Ford used a slider in turns three and four to drive past Weaver and assume command. He never relinquished the top stop in the remaining distance to capture the victory over Weaver, Rusty Ballenger, Adam Ahl, and Tim Maupin.
Earlier in the week, Ford entered the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Series event at Volunteer Speedway. Ford secured his spot into the $3,500-to-win A-Main on Monday night with the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group. He went on to register a ninth-place finish in the main event.
