Duty attends MLRA opener to kick off 2022 campaign
To kick off the 2022 season, Double Duty Motorsports pilot Justin Duty trekked to 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) on Friday afternoon to compete in the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) season opener. With 39 cars entered for the two-day Heartland Hustle, Duty came in seventh in his heat before placing fifth in his B-Main, forcing him to rely on a provisional into the opening night feature. With $5,000 on the line, Justin advanced forward eight spots to finish 16th. (Mike Ruefer photo)
On Saturday, Justin had to rely on a provisional again into the $7,000-to-win finale after missing a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main. Rolling off 23rd, Duty passed 12 cars in the 35-lap affair, crossing the line in 11th.
