Hamilton Headed Back To CGS

Cottage Grove, Oregon- 2015 has been quite the year for teenager Greg Hamilton of Burlington, Washington. Hamilton already in just a few short months has competed in tracks in the states of Oregon, Washington, California, and Arizona. On Friday April 24th he would set fast time of the night at Cottage Grove Speedway's Western Sprint Tour event and ended up third in the feature. Saturday the 25th rained out but he did travel to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington where he ended the night sixth.
“I was surprised we were so fast out of the gate,” said Hamilton, “getting quick time was definitely a confidence booster, I don't think I've had a quick time since I was in the Restricted (Micro Sprints).”
Hamilton will return this Saturday May 2nd for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Huddle Automotive Repair. He will be one of many out of state travelers planning to make the trip to the historic 1/4-mile clay oval. Greg will look to keep the momentum up as both feature finishes last weekend were his best of the season.
“I'm going to try and build off of last week, I mean a win would be nice but a good quality run is what we're looking for.”
Hamilton is the driver of the Hamilton Construction/Speedmart Inc./Shark Racing Engines/Trainwreck Bar & Grill/Les Schwab-SW/R.L.H. Trucking and Timber Services #96 XXX machine. He is one of the many young upcoming stars coming out of the Micro Sprint ranks.
Other classes include the IMCA Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets. Admission prices are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, 5 & Under FREE, and a Family Pass (consisting of two adults and up to four youths) is $30.00. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.
