Another leaking tire!
A strenuous day during practice, including a small confrontation with the Turn 4 wall, finished up with a slowly leaking tire during the 75 lap feature race. Tim Walters was crewman and spotter extraordinaire, and really made this day as good as it could possibly get.
The Borem Motorsports 111 Sportsman car was not cooperating, to say the least. The Turn 4 wall took the small victory - badly damaging the right side lower ball joint. With much help from competing car teams, we were back into action with one final practice. And.... the car handled very well!
A few hours later our feature race was to begin, so we made a last minute check of tire pressures and stagger and sway bar. All was well, so we scratched the prior decision to voluntarily begin in last place.
During the feature race, the car and driver performed well, but noticed a steadily declining ability to run a proper line around the track. Immediately after the race it was found that the right front tire had lost most of its air pressure (from 25psi down to 8psi!).
We'll get em next time!
Again, thanks to Tim Walters, Chad Pierce Motorsports, Q Auto Law, and Integrated Fire. Special thanks today to the 71 Sportsman, and the 67 Sportsman, and the 11 Sportsman cars for their help behind the scenes.
