Rilat Joining ASCS Gulf South Region at Pair of Bullrings This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (April 13, 2015) – Travis Rilat is eager to tackle the ASCS Gulf South Region doubleheader this weekend when he will compete on Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, and Saturday at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas.

“We haven’t raced at either track very often throughout the years so it will be good to get back to both,” he said. “We’re going after a couple of wins so hopefully we can draw well, race well and be in contention at the end of both nights.”

Rilat’s best result at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in the last decade, which encompasses only a half-dozen races, is a third-place result in 2011.

“That’s a high-banked, small track where you can flirt with disaster if you’re running the high side,” he said. “You’re going to be around a lot of cars all night so you have to make the right decision and put yourself in a good spot lap after lap.”

Meanwhile, Rilat has only raced at Gator Motorplex twice since a win at the end of the 2005 season. He finished second in both 2008 and 2009 at the quarter-mile oval.

“I enjoy racing on the little bullring tracks where it’s elbows up,” he said. “We haven’t been there in more than five years, but I don’t see any reason why we can’t go in there and be as competitive as we were the last few times.”

Rilat scored a second-place finish in his most recent ASCS Gulf South Region event this season.
