Rilat Facing ASCS National Tour Doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (Sept. 8, 2014) – Travis Rilat will return to competition this weekend with a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway.

Rilat is slated to race at the fast track in Fort Worth, Texas, this Friday and Saturday for the Port-A-Cool U.S. Dirt Track Championship, which he almost won last season.

“We have some unfinished business there after the way it ended last season,” he said. “We’re going into this weekend looking for a pair of wins.”

Rilat charged from sixth to second place during his heat race last year, which earned him the pole position for the main event. However, after taking the lead several laps into the feature, Rilat’s right rear tire collided with a wall and packed the wheel full of mud.

He maintained the lead until a restart with eight laps remaining and eventually ended with a 16th-place result.

“We know we have speed there and we were close to winning the ASCS National Tour race last season,” he said. “Hopefully everything goes well on Friday and Saturday and we can finish off with a trip to Victory Lane.”

Rilat is seeking his first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour victory of the season. He has scored 26 career wins with the premier 360ci sprint car series, which ranks eighth on the all-time list.
