[b ELK GROVE, CA (6-1-10) –] With Placerville Speedway dark for the weekend, Elk Grove's Billy Strange took advantage of the off night last Saturday to test his luck at Marysville Raceway Park for a night of championship point racing. After a tough weekend and week of making the neccsary repairs and changes, Strange is ready to return to Placerville Speedway this Saturday night.

'It just wasn't a good night for us at all," said Strange. "Marysville runs that two heat format and it kind of bit me both times. The first heat I got pushed up into the wall and bent the right rear wheel and the w-link so the second heat race I just chilled out and made sure everything was working right and finished fifth."

Returning to the track for the feature event, Strange started in the seventh position worked his way into fourth place within two laps of the race. Once again, mechanical woes would force him out of the race for the night.

"I was pressuring third place and the car just really felt funny," said Strange. "When a yellow came out a couple laps later my Dad waved me off because the right front shock had come off. With no way to reattach it in little tim we were done for the night. It was a bummer because it felt like I had the car to challenge for the win."

With championship point racing still off for another week, Placerville Speedway will host the 410 cubic inch powered sprint cars. In the past Strange has raced his 360 powered #28x car in these event. This week, however, he will pilot a 410 power plant around the quarter-mile track he calls home.

"I've always wanted to do some 410 races and we picked up a motor this year so it's time to drop it in for the first time," said Strange. "If everything goes ok we will be running it and shaking it down in Chico on Friday night and head to Placerville on Saturday."

Strange Motorsports has a number of marketing partners that they are thankful for. Among their supporters are QWK Racing Components, ART Enterprises, Rex Hutchison Racing Engines, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Swepco Lubricants, Pronol Race Fuels, MotoWear International, America's Tire, High Country Painting and Amerikote.
