Schuett Racing Looks to Finish Rookie IRA Season Strong

“It’s been a rollercoaster of a year, but there’s still a lot more work to do.”

Kyle Schuett and the Schuett Racing Inc Team have indeed had a rollercoaster 2021 season so far. From the highs; two IRA Dash victories, 3 All Star Circuit of Champions A Main appearances, and currently Top 10 in Points. To the lows; 3 destroyed frames and an expired engine while running Top 5 at Antigo.

Bad luck while having a great night has been the story of the Philo, IL native’s IRA Rookie campaign. However, the Progressive Propane/Health Alliance 9K has shown consistent Top 10 speed all year long with “The Best of the Upper Midwest.”

“It’s been a decent year so far.” Schuett said. “To be top 10 in points with this group of drivers is great, but we know we could be higher if some things went our way.” Kyle then switched focus to the remaining 11 races on the calendar.

“The upside looking forward is that there are no tracks left on the schedule that are new to us. We definitely struggled a bit at some new places this year, minus Antigo where we had a Top 5 car all night long. We love going to Dodge County and run well there, so having that place twice on the schedule in September is great. I’m looking forward to finishing strong at tracks we have good information on and wrapping up our rookie year on a high.”

Schuett has tallied 9 Top 15’s, 4 Top 10’s, 3 Heat Race wins, 2 Dash wins and currently sits 10th in IRA Points with 11 rounds remaining. He also sits in the lead for the Sage Fruit Rookie of the Year Award by a healthy margin over Minnesota’s Jack Berger in 16th.

The remaining IRA schedule looks like this:

8/21-Wilmot Raceway
Wilmot, WI
Roger Iles Tribute/Kenosha County Fair

8/22-Angell Park Speedway
Sun Prairie, WI
Corn Fest

8/29-Dirt Oval at Route 66

9/18 TBA-Wisconsin

9/24-Dodge County Fairgrounds

The Schuett Racing Team will look ahead to this weekend’s double header at Wilmot Raceway for the Kenosha County Fair/Roger Iles Tribute Race and Angell Park Speedway for the legendary Corn Fest event. If you can’t make it out to see the methanol monsters of the IRA in person, every IRA race will be exclusively broadcasted on the FloRacing streaming service all season long.
