Matt Campbell
2004 Year in Review
Campbell Racing entered 2004 with lofty goals. Matt’s 2003 Rookie season produced 1 win, 9 seconds, 5 thirds and numerous top 5 finished. Entering his 2nd season, Campbell Racing set the mark of 12 wins as their 2004 goal. Quite a benchmark after collecting 1 win the previous year, but all the pieces were in place: equipment, crew experience, driver experience, etc. for success.
Still 12 wins in 2004 after only 1 win in 2003 seemed quite intimidating. Well, hard work and determination paid off. Not only did Matt reach his goal of 12 wins but added 4 more before the ’04 season came to end for a total of 16 wins! The season end totals were 16 wins, 8 seconds, 4 thirds and 5 DNF’s (did not finish). Matt finished no lower than 3rd in 28 of the 33 races entered and was considered 1 of the favorites to win at any race the team showed up at. Matt’s wins were collected at 4 different tracks: Hunterstown, Selinsgrove, Path Valley and Trailways Speedways.
Matthew won at 4 of the 5 tracks we raced at. Campbell Racing entered the off season looking forward to some needed rest to recharge our batteries and prepare for the 2005 season.
