Trenca Records Career-Best Outlaws Result and Hard Charger Award at Rolling Wheels

Inside Line Promotions – ELBRIDGE, N.Y. (Oct. 13, 2015) – Joe Trenca highlighted last weekend by earning his career-best finish with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series as well as the Hard Charger Award on Saturday at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park.

“Saturday was a pretty good night,” he said. “In time trials we didn’t do too good. The track was locked down early in the night, but we got better each time we hit the track and we learned more and more.”

Trenca qualified 25th quickest before advancing from ninth to eighth place during a heat race. The Mucci Motorsports driver then maneuvered from sixth to fourth place in the Last Chance Showdown to garner a transfer into the main event, which he started 22nd.

“The track got a little more racy in the feature,” he said. “We got by a bunch of cars early and we worked on a few more late in the race. That was good to have a solid performance in front of our hometown crowd.”

Trenca charged from 22nd to a 13th-place result.

He wrapped up the weekend on Sunday with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park, which delayed the event from Friday because of the weather.

“We finally got a good pill draw for a heat race,” he said. “Two laps into the race we were running second and the nose wing collapsed again. It was a brand new wing and struts. I’m not sure what happened. I got wicked tight after that.”

Trenca, who started the heat on the outside of the front row, held on for a fourth-place result. That lined him up on the outside of the fifth row for the main event.

“We were up to sixth or seventh at one point,” he said. “We had a late-race restart and I couldn’t get running quickly enough. I lost a few spots, plus we missed the setup a little and were loose.”

Trenca ended with a 12th-place result.

He is scheduled to return to competition this Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.
