Pair of podiums with Crate Racin USA at Talladega; Runner-up in Jerry Goodwin Challenge with HTF
Tyler Millwood took part in a busy weekend at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) as he competed in both the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and Crate Racin' USA in the Red Farmer Tribute weekend.
With a whopping 52 Crate Late Models on deck, Millwood transferred to the A-Main in qualifying and gained eight positions in the 37-lap feature to finish runner-up to Cory Hedgecock.
Among 42 Super Late Models checked in, Tyler started the $5,038-to-win main event from the front-row and led the first 10 circuits before letting Ashton Winger by on lap 11. Chasing down Winger in the final laps, Millwood settled for a runner-up finish while Wil Herrington joined the podium.
For the Red Farmer Tribute features on Saturday, Tyler topped the CRUSA qualifying charts and was victorious in his heat race. Rolling off from the front-row in the $6,000-to-win A-Main, Millwood secured another podium finish in third behind Cory Hedgecock and Jason Whelsan.
Following a disappointing lap in Super Late Model qualifying, Millwood was charging forward in his heat race when he jumped over the berm in turn four. He was a scratch in his B-Main.
