Marks uses Knoxville starts as valuable Nationals testing; Wisconsin/Iowa double ahead
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MYERSTOWN, Pa. (June 17, 2019) - Although his weekend outcomes were shy of expectation, finishing 14th and 16th, respectively, during Brownells Big Guns Bash/World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition at Knoxville Raceway, Marks will use his recent starts as test sessions, already looking ahead to the coveted Knoxville Nationals in mid-August.
Despite finishing outside of the top-ten, Marks did make forward progress during his Knoxville Raceway visit, ultimately advancing five positions over the course of two main events.
“We didn’t have the finishes we wanted, but we learned a lot and now we have a baseline for when we come back in August for the Nationals,” Brent Marks explained, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car. “Knoxville Raceway can be a tough place to get around. It’s a place we want to learn as much as we can about. Not to mention, the guys who race their weekly are very good. That makes starts there all the harder. Regardless, I’m proud of my team. I’m excited to get back in a few months.”
Even with eyes on the big prize in August, Marks will first have to focus on World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition in Wisconsin and Iowa, first visiting Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, June 22, followed by a stop at Dubuque Speedway on Sunday, June 23. Brent Marks will enter the weekend tenth in the World of Outlaws championship standings, padded by seven top-ten finishes, three of which inside the top-five.
