Brent Marks finishes ninth during starts at Black Hills and Big Sky

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (August 27, 2018) – Consistent, to say the least, Brent Marks’ two-race, World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series campaign through South Dakota and Montana during the recent weekend resulted in a pair of top-ten finishes, crossing under the final checkers ninth in the running order during starts at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., on Friday, as well as at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont., on Saturday. The top-ten sweep bumped his total to 23 during World of Outlaws competition in 2018, still maintaining ninth in the current World of Outlaws championship standings.

Impressive enough, Marks’ ninth place finish on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway was drama-filled, actually blowing a tire during the first half of the program before resuming action at the tail. The ‘Myerstown Missile’ recovered to finish ninth, just two spots shy of his starting position even after going to the back of the running order.

“I’m certainly proud of this team. It has been an amazing year so far – a career-year, better yet,” Brent Marks said, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/Buckwalter Trucking/No. 19 sprint car. “Achieving consistency has been on our agenda since the beginning of the year. I think we are there.”

Continuing his sophomore season with the Greatest Show On Dirt, Marks will move further west and slowly prepare himself for a three-race campaign in Washington, first visiting Skagit Speedway for a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1, followed by a stop at Grays Harbor Raceway on Labor Day – Monday, September 3. Marks highlighted his Washington visit in 2017 with a pair of 13th place finishes; one at Skagit and a second at Grays Harbor.
