Myerstown, PA (September 28, 2015) – Despite not earning his first victory of the 2015 season until Monday, September 7, at Port Royal Speedway, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks has been nothing short of consistent during his entire campaign. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native continued that display of consistency during the recent weekend, racking up two consecutive podium finishes during two, very rewarding central Pennsylvania programs.
The pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, Russell Heller Builders, #19M, 410 sprint car kicked off the recent weekend with a third place finish during the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series “Tune Up” at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 25. Marks followed up his “Tune Up’ performance with another third place finish; this time, during the 2nd annual, $20,000-to-win, “Dirt Classic” at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 26. The “Missile” improved greatly from his 11th place finish during the inaugural “Dirt Classic” in 2014.
“We were competitive all weekend” said Brent Marks, “I made some mistakes in traffic on Saturday at the ‘Dirt Classic’ which hurt us a little bit. Those mistakes took away our chances of winning. On Friday, we struggled on the restarts. It took almost three laps before I could get going again. Regardless, it was a great weekend for our team. We look forward to getting back to Williams Grove Speedway for the ‘National Open’ this weekend.”
Brent Marks will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Williams Grove Speedway this Thursday through Saturday, October 1-3, for the 53rd annual Champion Racing Oil “National Open.” The 2015 edition will feature three full programs for “The Greatest Show on Dirt” including back-to-back preliminary events on Thursday and Friday, October 1-2, worth $10,000 each. The weekend will be highlighted with the 40-lap, $50,000-to-win, “National Open” main event on Saturday, October 3. Marks finished 14th during the prestigious event in 2014.
“Just like any other race, our goal is to outperform past results” said Brent Marks, “Qualifying for this race is a huge deal. We have some things figured out right now and I feel like we have the potential to be a contender all weekend. It all starts with qualifying. We’ll use our notes and try to race our way up front.”
