Brent Marks Ready to Race Outlaws on Home Dirt
Williams Grove Speedway ‘Summer Nationals’ on Weekend Agenda

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Myerstown, PA (July 23rd, 2015) – After racing with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on three consecutive occasions in areas of western Ohio and western Pennsylvania, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks will once again join “The Greatest Show on Dirt” for two more scheduled stops, but this time a little closer to home. Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing, BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, ‘19M,’ will make appearances with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series this Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Two full “Summer Nationals” programs will be contested at the dirt staple, with a potential $33,000 winner’s share up for grabs by the end of the weekend.

“As much as we like to travel with these guys, it’s tough to beat racing close to home” said Brent Marks, “We’ve been on the road quite a bit lately. It’ll be nice working out of our own shop this weekend. Things have been going ‘OK’ for us. We’ve had some great runs with a few cut short with tough luck. We have home track advantage this weekend so we plan to take advantage of that.”

The “Summer Nationals” will award $8,000 to the main event winner on Friday night, July 24th, followed by a $20,000 top prize on Saturday night, July 25th. In addition, the 30-lap main event winner on Saturday night will receive a $5,000 bonus, as well as ‘Morgan Cup’ honors. A win for Marks on Saturday night would keep the coveted “Morgan Cup” trophy in Pennsylvania for at least one more year.

“A lot on the line this weekend” said Marks, “Putting yourself in a good position after qualifying is important. Hopefully we can earn a dash spot and set ourselves up for a great starting position on both nights. We understand what it takes to run up front with these guys and that all starts with qualifying.”

Brent Marks will enter the “Summer Nationals” program with three consecutive World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series starts under his belt. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania native joined the national travelers at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 32nd annual “Kings Royal” last weekend. Marks kicked off the historic program with a tenth place finish during the “Knight Before The Kings Royal” main event on Friday night, July 17th. It was a career-high feature finish for Marks at the famous Eldora Speedway; earning a third place finish during heat race competition and a sixth place performance during World of Outlaws dash action along the way.

Unfortunately, Marks would not be able to repeat his top-ten success on Saturday evening, July 18th during the “Kings Royal” weekend finale. After charging from the outside of row number ten into a top-ten running position, Marks would make contact with a slowing Donny Schatz. The contact sent Marks hard into the inside retaining wall with under ten laps remaining in the 40-lap, $50,000-to-win main event. Marks would have to settle for a 16th place finish.

The ‘19M’ operation would end their recent three-race stretch with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Tuesday evening, July 21st at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. The “Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup” was on tap at the Sarver venue; showcasing two, 30-lap main events with each awarding $10,000. Marks would not qualify for the double feature program; finishing fifth in “Last Chance Showdown” competition.

“We were happy with our performance at Eldora” said Marks, “I think we were better than a tenth place car on Friday but I missed a few of my marks. We had a great run going on Saturday but it got cut short. Tough on us because I feel like we were a top-five car on Saturday. Started 20th and got rolling really well. Not much to say about Tuesday night. Just a rough night from the start. We got ourselves buried and could never really recover. Hats off to my guys and the entire team. They work hard and keep us going up and down the road. I appreciate everything they do for me.”
