Dominic Scelzi Focusing on Continued Success at Peter Murphy Classic This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (May 9, 2022) – The Peter Murphy Classic has always been a special event for Dominic Scelzi.

“Peter is a great guy who has meant a lot to me and my racing career,” he said. “We always look forward to racing the Peter Murphy Classic and last year we were able to accomplish something I couldn’t even dream about.”

Scelzi swept the event, winning both the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series and Sprint Car Challenge Tour feature each night during the doubleheader. He’ll aim for similar success this Friday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., and Saturday at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

“Last year was very special and everything would have to align perfectly to be able to win multiple features let alone sweep all four races this weekend,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed a lot of success in Tulare and Hanford so we’ll go race by race and hopefully be competitive each time we hit the track.”

Scelzi is coming off his 50th career feature triumph and heads to a pair of tracks where he’s no stranger to Victory Lane. He earned a half-dozen victories at each oval last year.

Additionally, Scelzi enters this weekend leading the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series championship standings after producing podiums during each of the first two races this season.
