At our last race, we had an issue with either the carburetor or the spark plug. We tore the carb apart and cleaned it, despite it looking perfect. We changed the plug and hoped it was the culprit, although it looked fine as well. We were eager to see how it ran this weekend, and it seemed to do well!
Blake started the heat race in 4th and quickly jumped out front. He lead a handful of laps for the first time in his short career, and eventually relinquished the top spot to the Hudson Hornet, Hudson Jordan, the Mighty Karts points leader. While he was bummed he didn't win, he was also happy with second - and so was his crew!
His passing points in the heat race placed him P2 in the feature, and he held onto it the whole race. We're lacking speed in the corners when compared to the race chassis of some of the other drivers, but experience and some chassis tuning seems to have helped a bit. Regardless, when we signed up for Saturday's race, Blake saw the trophies and said "I want one of those!" I told him to go get one...and he did! Needless to say, he was happy with second! Hoping for another good finish this coming weekend. Bring the family and come see us 9/28/2024, starting at 7pm!
