BOYLES WINS FIRST OF CAREER AT I-35

Winston, Mo. (April 23) -Taking over the top spot on lap sixteen, Clinton Boyles led the final five laps to pick up his first career win, in only his fourth ever sprint car start, Saturday night with the Boss Chassis WAR Series at I-35 Speedway.

TJ Muths beat second-starting Craig Carroll into turn one and would take control early. Muths set a quick pace, and he would hold a comfortable advantage for the first eight laps. Hinchman Racewear heat race winner Chris Parkinson moved forward and steadily ate into the lead. Parkinson would work his way past Muths to lead lap eleven as Boyles was quickly moving up to Muths for second. A couple of laps later, Boyles would work his way past Muths and set his sights on Parkinson. Parkinson would lead until lap sixteen, when Boyles got a good run in the middle and worked his way past.

Boyles would steadily extend his lead in the non-stop twenty-lapper, picking up his first career WAR win in his Jesse Hockett Racing #77. Parkinson ran a strong second in his Country Kids Daycare/54th Street Grill and Bar #65. Ryan Kitchen made a late pass of Muths to run third, with Carroll rounding out the top five.

Trent Austin took a nasty tumble in the Hinchman Racewear heat race. He was uninjured, but his evening was done. Layne Himebaugh suffered engine problems, which also kept him from competing throughout the evening.

The Boss Chassis WAR Series is tentatively scheduled to run at Lakeside Speedway on Thursday May 5, and will then travel to Wheatland, MO, to race at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday May 7.
