Adams Captures NSA Series Season Opener at Electric City Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – GREAT FALLS, Mont. (May 19, 2017) – Casey Adams emerged victorious during the opening round of the Sprint Car Shootout on Friday evening at Electric City Speedway.

Adams took advantage of a late-race spin by leader Trever Kirkland, who led most of the race, to score the win at the NSA Series season opener. Adams is the fifth different winner in six NSA Series races dating back to last season.

Kirkland opened the main event by quickly charging from fourth into the lead. Polesitter Travis Rilat remained within striking distance for the first handful of laps before spinning only seconds before Matthew Dusseault flipped at a different part of the track.

Kirkland maintained the top spot for a majority of the main event before he spun. While he kept his car going, Kirkland dropped to a seventh-place result.

Adams capitalized on the spins to inherit the lead en route to the victory. Bill Boyce maneuvered from seventh to the runner-up finish with David Miller rounding out the podium. Phil Dietz garnered the Hard Charger Award for powering from 17th to a fourth-place result and Rilat rebounded from his early spin to record a fifth-place finish.

Miller, Kirkland and Chevy Goodhope were the heat race winners.

Round 2 of the Sprint Car Shootout is Saturday at Electric City Speedway. The front gates will open at 6 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors (65-years-old and older) and students (12-years-old to 17-years-old). Children 11-years-old and younger get in free. Pit passes are $30.
