Lawrence Produces Stout Results After Change in Season Plans

Inside Line Promotions – LILLIAN, Texas (Nov. 30, 2018) – Zane Lawrence earned several strong results after switching gears from 360ci to 305ci sprint car competition early in the season.
Mechanical woes sidelined Lawrence and his 360ci sprint car early in the season. However, a long-time friend, Bob Odom, offered Lawrence the opportunity to race his 305ci sprint car at select RaceSaver Sprint Car Series races throughout the season and the duo hit it off.
Lawrence logged several top-five finishes in his 305 starts and he didn’t finish a feature outside of the top seven. He came close to a couple of victories, especially at Abilene Speedway in Abilene, Texas, where he scored a runner-up finish.
“I really can’t thank Bob enough for giving me an opportunity to race his sprint car and add a couple more races to the schedule this season,” Lawrence said. “He is an awesome guy to work with and I’m glad we could score some more good runs for him this season.”
Lawrence also had some fun in a different type of race car as he climbed behind the wheel of a 600ci micro sprint for a weekend at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas, where he recorded a sixth-place finish.
“I have to give a big thanks to my buddy, Morgan Roan, too,” Lawrence said. “He let me race his micro sprint for a couple races and we had a lot of fun with it.”
Lawrence’s 2019 plans consist of being back behind the wheel of his 360 sprint car and racing the Odom owned 305 sprint car when the opportunity presents itself.
“I had a lot of fun this season being back in micro and a 305 sprint car,” Lawrence said. “I’m looking forward to being back behind the wheel of my 360 next year and still racing for Bob when we can. It’ll be a busy season, but hopefully a successful one as well.”
