MONROVIA, Ind. – In three short weeks, Monrovia, Ind. native Justin Peck will kick off his 2016 season, coming off another impressive Chili Bowl Midget Nationals showing, narrowly missing the prestigious main event. For this season, Peck Motorsports has made the move to Stanton Toyota engines, and the team looks to compete for the POWRi National Midget Championship, as well as in select USAC National Midget events. In addition, Peck will pilot a winged sprint car for the first time, on four occasions. With car owner Russ Grossman, he'll compete in the 305 sprint ranks in western Pennsylvania in May and June as his schedule allows.

The action gets started for Peck when his team travels to Du Quoin, Ill. for the "Shamrock Classic" under the roof of the Southern Illinois Center on March 19. That event will be the first indoor points-paying USAC National Midget race since 1993. Then, Peck makes his longest venture of the season, to Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla. The 3rd Annual "Turnpike Challenge" on the first weekend of April holds two nights of POWRi action on the tiny 1/8 mile oval. Back home again in Indiana, the Dura Coat Products No. 5X will compete both nights at USAC's "Kokomo Grand Prix" at Kokomo Speedway the following weekend. After a week off, the Illinois portion of the POWRi schedule begins at Jacksonville Speedway on April 22, then Macon Speedway one night later. Peck heads south with the series for the final weekend of the month, visiting Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill. and then crossing the Mississippi River for the “Spring Classic” at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri, competing alongside the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.

POWRi stays west of the river as it begins May, heading to the west-central region of Missouri for the “Missouri Mid-State Midget Nationals.” Peck’s first leg of the weekend comes at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, and then onto Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland. Another doubleheader weekend in Illinois on May 20 and 21 brings POWRi’s lone visit of the year to Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, and a return to Macon.

Peck begins a massive undertaking of 13 races in 17 days on May 27, making his first trip to Pennsylvania. He’ll climb aboard Grossman’s No. 86 sprint car at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Brookville that night, and then at Mercer Raceway Park the next night. Two days off separate the trip from six consecutive nights of USAC’s “Indiana Midget Week,” which visits Montpelier Motor Speedway, Gas City I-69 Speedway, Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Bloomington Speedway, Lawrenceburg Speedway, and finally Kokomo. Another two-day break in the action will allow the team to regroup for POWRi’s “Illinois SPEED Week,” beginning on June 8. The five-race stretch visits Belle-Clair, Quincy Raceways, Jacksonville, Macon, and then closes out at Lincoln Speedway.

Making his second stint in Pennsylvania, Peck returns to Mercer, and then to Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pa. on Father’s Day. After heading home, POWRi action resumes at Belle-Clair and then at St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Mo. on June 24 and 25. After visiting Macon Speedway on July 2, Peck heads to the legendary Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. for its 35th Annual “Pepsi Nationals.” The “Knepper Memorial” at Belle-Clair comes on July 15, with racing the next night at Fairbury (Ill.) American Legion Speedway.

To start August, Peck returns to I-55 Raceway for two nights with his Toyota-powered DRC Chassis, with POWRi as the undercard for the World of Outlaws’ popular “Ironman 55” on August 5 and 6. Two weeks later, POWRi makes its final appearances of the season at Lincoln and Macon, which is hosting the “Camfield Memorial.”

The season begins to wind down after that, but with several memorial races on tap. Jacksonville holds the “Herb Barlow Memorial” on September 9, and Peck hopes to defend his win last season at Spoon River Speedway in Lewistown, Ill. in the “Tom Knowles Memorial.” The doubleheader “Belleville Bash / Charlene Meents Memorial” at Belle-Clair comes on September 30 and October 1. Peck closes out his season at the “Jason Leffler Memorial” on October 21 at Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, Ill., where last season, he started the $20,000-to-win main event from the pole before early mechanical issues forced him out of the race.

As track and series schedules continue to develop, Peck’s schedule may as well. Stay tuned for changes in the Peck Motorsports schedule on the web and on social media.

Peck would like to thank Dura Coat Products, Factory Kahne, DRC Chassis, Simpson Race Products, Lucas Oil, Keizer Wheels, Hoosier Racing Tire, Saldana Racing Products, Thomas Railroad Construction, Pit Stop BBQ & Grill, Kwik Change Products, and Spider Graphix, as well as his parents, crew, and all of his fans for their continued support.
