Randolph Nets First Career Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Victory While Flud and Laplante Continue Winning Ways During Series Debut at Arkoma

Inside Line Promotions – ARKOMA, Okla. (July 6, 2018) – Jase Randolph scored his first career Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass triumph while Frank Flud and Ryder Laplante returned to Victory Lane with the series on Friday night during the opening round of the Stars and Stripes Shootout.

The first night of the doubleheader marked the debut for the series at the bullring, which hosted 70 entrants among the three premier NOW600 Series divisions.

Randolph took advantage of a front row starting position and held off Flud, who is the winningest driver in series history, to garner the Stock Non-Wing triumph. He became the 10th different winner in the division this season. Avery Goodman finished third with Johnny B in fourth. All four drivers are locked into Saturday’s feature redraw.

Caleb Pence, Flud and B were the heat race winners and Ryan Timms claimed the B Main.

Flud captured his series-best 20th career – and fifth of the season – Winged ‘A’ Class victory after starting third. Riley Goodno placed second with Daison Pursley rallying from 10th to third place and Trey Burke ending fourth to secure a spot into Saturday’s feature redraw.

Goodno, Burke and Dylan Pendergrass each won a heat race.

Laplante has earned a series-best 11 career Restricted ‘A’ Class victories thanks to his second triumph of the season on Friday. Shawn Mahaffey rallied from seventh to second place with Aidan Silva and points leader Ryan Timms placing third and fourth, respectively, to lock into Saturday’s feature redraw.

Garrett Benson, Timms and Brant Woods each produced a heat race win.

Round 2 of the Stars and Stripes Shootout is Saturday at Arkoma Speedway. The gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults while children ages 5-years-old and younger get in free. Pit passes are $30 per person.
