Lawson Racing kicked off our season last Saturday in Devils Lake
Lawson Racing kicked off our 2018 season this past Saturday at the Devils Lake Speedway. A strong field of 22 sprint cars were on hand for the CAOSS/NOSA race night. The track had received good amount of rain the day prior and that caused a rougher track for the night. Kevin would be in the first heat of 3 and finish 6th. I would be in the 2nd heat and come home 4th. That would start me 13th and Kevin 16th in the feature. The rough track made it hard to get a hold of it. There were several cautions in the first half of the feature, then went until 5 to go when I was making a pass under a car out of turn 2 when the car outside of me got sideways and came down and we hit side to side. Not knowing what the damage might me, I pulled into the infield. After inspection, it was just a broken wheel cover. It was also discovered that sometime during the feature, I broke a left front shock mount and also the end off the shock shaft. Kevin would finish the feature in the 12th and I would finish in 16th. We will be back at it this Saturday night again at the Devils Lake Speedway.
