BURKS BAGS USAC WSO / MWRA SPRINT MAIN AT 81 SPEEDWAY
Park City, Kansas (June 20, 2020)………Wyatt Burks led the final 16 circuits of Saturday night’s combined USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma and USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association Sprint Car feature to collect the victory at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kans.
Burks (Topeka, Kans.) trailed early leaders Brett Wilson (Coweta, Okla.) and Jeremy Campbell (Wichita, Kans.) for the first nine laps before taking over. Wilson and Campbell both found trouble while leading in separate incidents. Wilson was sidelined with mechanical issues on the third lap after leading the first two. From there, Campbell inherited the lead until he flipped on the tenth lap.
The lead went to Burks on the lap 10 restart and he wouldn’t relinquish it, leading the rest of the way to score the victory over Kory Schudy (Springfield, Mo.), Don Droud Jr. (Lincoln, Neb.), Waylon Weaver (Claremore, Okla.) and Michael Woodruff (Santana, Kans.) who rounded out the top-five after starting 23rd and earning hard charger honors.
