Zearfoss earns first-ever URC victory; Outlaw Nittany Showdown on horizon

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (October 21, 2019) – Despite being forced to settle with a ‘DNF’ during the 410c.i. portion of the Saturday evening program, the ‘Jonestown Jet’ Brock Zearfoss made the most of his United Racing Club (URC) 360c.i. start at the Port Royal Speedway ‘Speed Palace’ and secured a first-ever victory with the Series. Impressive enough, Zearfoss, who now owns four victories in 2019 including his 360 triumph, earned the URC/Open Wheel Madness win from the outside of row six, taking command aboard his familiar No. 3Z with only three circuits remaining.

Piloting the Ryan Linder-owned/X-1 Race Cars/No. 9 sprint car during the 410c.i. portion of the Open Wheel Madness program, Zearfoss was eventually scored 17th after starting seventh; contact with another competitor ended all hope for a trip to the coveted victory lane stage.

“The goal was to get two of these, but that’s how it goes sometimes,” Brock Zearfoss, a former Port Royal track champion, said of his Open Wheel Madness win. “I can’t thank Ryan Linder enough for the opportunity to drive his X-1 Race Car on Saturday. We had a fast hot rod, things just didn’t pan out. Also, a big thanks to Metz-Wolfgang Auto Sports for allowing us to use their 360 again. It has been a dream to drive and we certainly appreciate the opportunity.”

Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2019 campaign with another trip to the ‘Speed Palace,’ this time with the intent to battle head-to-head with the Greatest Show On Dirt during the annual Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 25 & 26. The ‘Jonestown Jet,’ who is a former World of Outlaws winner during action at Williams Grove Speedway, aims to collect both parts of the $23,000 winner’s share at Port Royal Speedway; $8,000 on Friday and $15,000 on Saturday.
