Jacob Moose
4th Place finish at Shippensburg Speedway
The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints were at Shippensburg Speedway Saturday night with their largest field so far this season. #17 Hunter Rumburg returned after missing a couple of races to win the Heat race. Five cars would take the green flag for the Feature as the lights came on at Shippensburg Speedway. #17 Hunter Rumburg and the #15H of Franklin Heinzmann would battle hard going into T1 as they took the green with #15H Franklin Heinzmann pulling into the lead coming out of T2. #17 Hunter Rumburg would apply the pressure as #5 Sean Case and #76 Logan Spahr would join the fight. #18 Jacob Moose, making just his second start in the Series, would show he’s gaining ground by hanging with the lead pack during the opening laps. As #15H Franklin Heinzmann would stretch out his lead the three car pack of #17 Hunter Rumburg, #5 Sean Case and #76 Logan Spahr would battle wheel-to-wheel and nose-to-tail over the 20 lap Feature until the #18 of Jacob Moose would spin coming out of T4 as the field took the two-to-go signal. At the same time #17 Hunter Rumburg and #5 Sean Case would make contact. #5 Sean Case would spin coming out of T1 as a result of damage to his steering and injuring the young drivers thumb enough to bring out the red flag until the EMT’s could check him out. Sean would be OK. With just two laps to go #15H Franklin Heinzmann would get a great restart and go on to take the checkered flag for the second race in a row. #17 Hunter Rumburg and #76 Logan Spahr would battle to the finish with #17 Hunter Rumburg grabbing the second spot.
