4th Place finish at Kutztown Fair Speedway

The Young Guns 390 Junior Sprints made their first appearance of the season at Kutztown Fair Speedway this past Wednesday. The excitement from the drivers was as high as the temperature. The YG390 Series welcomed yet another new driver to its ranks as Zachary Wells made his debut. Zack has been racing quarter midgets and WKA karts for the past few years and will be a quality addition to the YG390 Series. #15H Franklin Heinzmann would start from the pole in the Heat race and lead from flag-to-flag. The YG390’s would be the first Feature of the night taking to the track in front of a nice size Kutztown crowd. Pole sitter #15H Franklin Heinzmann would lose a chain as the cars entered the track. A quick service would have him joining the field at the rear for the green flag. As the green flew every car would quickly be racing for position. #5 Sean Case would grab the early lead with #76 Logan Spahr, #15H Franklin Heinzmann and #18 Jacob Moose bunched up tight in pursuit. #15H Franklin Heinzmann would grab the lead coming out of T2 on the third lap as the others continued to battle hard. #5 Sean Case would spin coming through T3 but would continue without bringing out the yellow. #18 Jacob Moose, in just his third YG390 start would have a strong showing, running as high as second position and putting pressure on the leader until contact with a couple of battling cars would have him off the pace for the remaining laps. #1 Zachary Wells would prove a quick study as he would stay on the lead lap for most of the race until spinning in T2 bringing out the only caution in the 20 lap Feature. As the green flew again #76 Logan Spahr would put pressure on leader #15H Franklin Heinzmann. #5 Sean Case, recovering from his earlier spin would make a quick move on #76 Logan Spahr for second and set his sights on the leader. With the two-to-go signal being given #5 Sean Case would dig hard to close the gap but would come up just short as #15H Franklin Heinzmann would take his third win of the season, his third in a row and his first ever at Kutztown Fair Speedway.
