BMJ soars to COMP Cams Green Country 50 at Arrowhead Speedway
Billy Moyer Jr. collected his second win of the 2023 season on Friday night aboard his Henderson Motorsports No. 21 Mesilla Valley Transportation / Phillips CPA / Pontiac RV / Bilstein / Longhorn Race Car / Clements Racing Engines Super Late Model.
His trip to Victory Lane came in COMP Cams Super Dirt Series action at Oklahoma’s Arrowhead Speedway and was worth $5,000.
“It was pretty awesome to be starting on the front row with my dad. We were able to get the hole shot when the race went green, and that was key. You know, hate it for the fans that it wasn't a super racy track, but I promise you it wasn't easy. I was trying to hit my marks and keep going,” Moyer Jr. said in Victory Lane. “We've been close a lot, been consistent. The car was really, really good right there. I’m very thankful for this team and everybody, who supports what we do.”
Billy Moyer Jr. and the Henderson Motorsports team followed the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) to Arrowhead Speedway (Colcord, Okla.) on Friday afternoon for the opener of the scheduled two-day weekend.
After topping the 32-car field in qualifying with a blazing 14.217-second lap, Moyer Jr. raced his way into the Green Country 50 A-Main with a heat race victory.
Despite multiple cautions that slowed the race, Billy kept his dad at bay for the entire distance of the 40-lapper to secure his second win of the season and 20th-career CCSDS triumph.
He earned a $5,000 payday ahead of his father, Cole Wells, Kip Hughes, and Logan Martin.
Saturday's scheduled stop at Caney (Kan.) Valley Speedway fell victim to Mother Nature.
Billy now sits 20 markers behind Kyle Beard for the lead in the latest CCSDS point standings.
