Moyer Jr. follows LOLMDS to East Bay

Billy Moyer Jr. returned to action on Monday evening at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Drawing 62 cars for the 44th annual Wrisco Winternationals, Moyer Jr. came in seventh fastest in his time trial group before placing 3rd in his heat. The following night, Billy edged his way into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with the 3rd and final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off 14th, Moyer Jr. jumped up two spots in the 30-lapper to place 12th.

On Wednesday afternoon for the third round of the Wrisco Winternationals, Moyer Jr. followed up the sixth fastest lap in his time trial group with the 3rd and final transfer spot in his heat race. With $7,000 on the line in the feature, Billy dropped back to a 30th place outing after drawing a caution on lap 15.

After registering the third fastest time in his qualifying group on Thursday evening, Billy streaked to an 8-lap heat race victory which positioned him sixth on the starting grid for the $7,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into a podium spot, Moyer Jr. jumped up three positions to score a 3rd place finish behind Brandon Sheppard and Josh Richards with Jimmy Owens and Devin Moran rounding out the Top-5.

For the fifth round on Friday night, Billy secured his spot into the main event with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Brandon Sheppard. Losing seven positions in the 50-lap affair, Moyer Jr. slipped back to a 15th place outing.

Wrapping up the 44th annual Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Moyer Jr. laid down the fastest lap overall in qualifying before picking up a heat race victory. Earning the second-starting position for the $12,000-to-win finale, Billy Moyer Jr. dropped eight spots to place 10th.

Bringing an end to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series speed-weeks on Sunday, Billy stopped All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Florida) for the $10,000-to-win Winter Nationals. In a field of 34 cars, Moyer Jr. fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish. Streaking to a 12-lap consolation victory, Billy locked into the 17th-starting position for the finale. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Billy Moyer Jr. advanced through the field eight spots to notch a 9th place finish.

With speedweeks in the books, Billy is currenty ninth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) point standings.
