Fifth-place finish in Topless prelim at Batesville

Billy Moyer Jr. followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) on Thursday night to kick off the 28th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. Following the fifth fastest lap in his time trial group, Moyer Jr. streaked to a 10-lap heat race victory, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature. On Friday evening for another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Billy posted a second place finish in his heat behind Earl Pearson Jr., locking him into the 12th-starting position for the A-Main. Holding his spot for all 30 laps, Moyer Jr. recorded a 12th place finish.

With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for the main event on Saturday night, Moyer Jr. was eighth overall in preliminary points, which positioned him on the fourth row for the feature. With $40,000 on the line, Billy faded 12 spots in the 100-lap affair to register a 20th place outing.

Billy is currently ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
