Hughes, Rauschenberg, Roach, Shaw and Whitwell Win Grand Reopening Night at Longdale Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (April 8, 2019) – Kip Hughes, Makayla Rauschenberg, Mike Roach, Hesston Shaw and R.C. Whitwell were victorious Saturday night at Longdale Speedway, which hosted its first official race since October 2017.

The 3/8-mile clay oval returned to life with a strong showing of nearly 90 entries among the five divisions competing during the grand reopening.

Hughes charged from 10th to capture the pure stocks feature victory as more than 30 competitors were on hand in the division. Treven Geter finished second with Matthew Smith third, Tommy Bohnstedt fourth and Lance Sessions fifth.

Smith, Chris Wilhite Sr., Bohnstedt and Geter were the heat race winners. Tanner Culver and Damon Seiger each claimed a B Main triumph.

Rauschenberg held off Leon Ramirez to garner the limited (inter) sport mods win. Skylar Bartel placed third with Chris Golden fourth and Austin Sessions fifth.

Austin McKinney won the lone heat race.

Roach powered from fourth to score the IMCA sport mods victory. Brandon Kenny ended in the runner-up position with Jarod Baird third, Robert Elliott fourth and Joe Adams fifth.

Elliott, Justin Cox and Roach picked up heat race wins. Jonathon Morgan was the B Main winner.

Shaw advanced from his fifth starting position to outlast 10th-starting Austin Bonner during the IMCA stock cars main event. Landon Maddox finished third with Travis Baird fourth and Steve Blunk fifth.

Bonner and Shaw each claimed a heat race triumph.

Whitwell maneuvered from sixth to score the IMCA/USRA modifieds win. Cole Traugott recorded a second-place finish with Brendon Gemmill third, Troy Gemmill fourth and Hunter McDonald fifth.

Whitwell and Brendon Gemmill were the heat race winners.

Longdale Speedway will take the next two weekends off before resuming action on April 27 for USMTS Under the Stars Night featuring the United States Modified Touring Series, IMCA/USRA Modifieds, Pure Stocks and IMCA Sport Mods.
