HMS Update - Copper Classic @ CSP
A week after racing with the best winged 360 drivers in the country, the ASCS National Tour, we are heading to Canyon Speedway Park for a pair of duels this Friday and Saturday night with a stout field of nonwing 410 drivers competing in the Copper Classic, sanctioned by USAC Cra. It was just earlier this month that we raced the Winter Challenge at Canyon and had mixed success, having a fast car early but struggling to close it out in the feature. This time it's a whole new ball game with warmer temperatures expected, more horsepower under the hood, and more divisions competing including USAC midgets. Some big NASCAR stars are also expected to compete in various divisions such as Kyle Larson, JJ Yeley, Kenny Wallace, and Kenny Schrader. Perhaps the hottest driver in 2013, Bryan Clauson, will also be there looking to keep up the dominance he has recently had at Canyon Spoedway Park. I'm excited as well after having success in my first USAC National race at the end of last year, finishing 9th and winning my heat race the next day. Hopefully I can translate that into a solid couple of runs this weekend.
