Hodges Motorsports Update - Jones Motor Speedway
The weekend is all wrapped up now at the high banked Jones Motor Speedway in Chatham, Louisiana. I started off the night right pulling pill 6 witch put me starting outside the front row in the 2nd heat. The track was slick up to a cushion high up on the track, but it was bad fast up on it. I got a bad start and fell into 2nd through 1 and 2 but was able to get a run and slide up for the lead coming off 4. After that I assumed a comfortable lead and took the heat race win. I was very happy with the car and excited for the main event. Now the track had the cushion all the way next to the fence and it was black slick all the way up to it. I made the redraw and pulled pill 8 to start outside the 4th row. On the start I lost a spot but after a few laps worked by a couple cars into about 7th. Around lap 5 I had my nose wing collapse due to a fractured wing post and the handling started going away on me. I was stil driving it hard (admittedly probably too hard) and got into the birm of turns 1 and 2 and looped the car and making contact with another punturing the right rear and damaing the right side header. That cut our night short and I was dissapointed with myself but the car was good and fast so we'll move on as we always do. Our next trip is still yet to be determined but we'll keep you posted when we make our decision.
