Bryan Hulbert – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 10, 2018) Blake Hahn’s third triumph of the season was the biggest of his career to date, winning over a star-studded field at I-30 Speedway’s COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tire.

“I’ve wanted to win the Short Track Nationals since I was a kid and now, to have my name on the list of winners at an event that includes Kinser and Swindell, I’m still on cloud nine. I can’t thank my Dad, Nan, Papa, and Dalton enough for giving me such an awesome car. I-30 is one of my favorite tracks, and it was just about perfect on Saturday,” commented Hahn who banked $10,041 on Saturday night, adding to his $13,000 score earlier this year at 81-Speedway in Park City, Kan.

Rolling out of Friday’s preliminary event with a fifth-place finish, Hahn felt confident going into Saturday’s championship event. Eighth to second in his Heat Race, the run put Hahn high points going into the Qualifiers, where he raced from sixth to first.

Sending Blake into the Pole Dash, he rolled out earning the fourth starting spot in the 41 lap A-Feature.

“We were highpoint coming out of the Heats and Qualifiers and ended up running fourth in the dash and that little extra time on the track told us exactly what we needed to do with the car. No one was really getting on the cushion in one and two, so we got the car just tight enough to run three and four and balanced enough to be able to run the cushion as hard as I wanted.”

Chasing Howard Moore after a multi-lap battle with Joe B. Miller, the pair exchanged the lead with a slide job on Lap 12 that saw Moore battling back. One lap later however, Hahn captures the point the following lap. Red on Lap 30, Hahn was able to hold avoid any challenges the final 11 laps.

“I was a little worried on the red that my tires were going to seal over. It seems like we’ve lost more races this year because of that. Beyond that, I was just focused on hitting my marks. I messed up one time coming off turn-two earlier in the race and about ended up in the Pits, but I didn't want to over-drive and blow the cushion. To tell you the truth, I don’t think I took a breath the last five laps.”

Watching the weather for this coming weekend, Hahn will for sure be back in action at the Devil’s Bowl Winter National on October 19 and 20 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com.

The 2018 season is Blake Hahn’s 16th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars.
