Allen Ready to Build on Strong 2019 Season

The 2019 season was a good one for Christopher Allen competing in his second year of wingless sprint car action. The former 305 champ, and 2017 URC rookie of the year, spent the this season focused in on wingless racing with the Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, and the effort showed.

Allen was able to collect an early season win at the Delaware International Speedway in April, his first ever with the series. Allen was consistent throughout the 2019 season finishing collecting five top-five, and ten top-ten finishes in eleven starts with the series. The only outlier for Allen was being involved in a crash at the Grandview Speedway in May resulting in a 15th place finish after starting on the second row.

When talking with Allen about the upcoming season, he stated he’s ready to get going and take on the bigger schedule. I also asked why he made the transition from winged racing primarily to wingless racing: “I have a huge love for wingless sprint car racing, not only as a driver, but also as a fan. You drive so hard and on the edge all the time; it’s awesome. I'm very appreciative of the opportunity we have to compete with USAC here on the east coast.”

Chris and his team are definitely excited to get to some new tracks for the 2020 season: “I’m looking forward to getting to Potomac and also seeing how Bridgeport makes out with the renovations. Getting out and seeing these tracks is awesome and not going to the same old places keeps the competition diverse. We all have to figure out the tracks at the same time, keeping a level playing field.”

While there may not be a ton of changes coming for the Allen team in 2020, they are making a few: "We are switching up chassis manufacturers and working on finding a little more power for the coming season. The 2019 season I learned a lot and got my cars rolling better in certain situations, and I'm lucky enough my bad nights were still great learning experiences.”

Chris and his team are also looking for any marketing and sponsorship partners to help the team chase the full season of USAC East Coast Points in 2020.

After a consistent year of running up front with the tough front runners of the Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, Christopher Allen and his team will again be one of the teams to beat in the competitive ranks of wingless sprint car action on the East Coast!

Be sure to follow along the team as they go through the 2020 Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Season by following their Facebook page at: Christopher Allen Racing.
