Attrition, Fast Race Track Gives Josh Hanna a Top 10
On a cool Friday night in Waco, TX, the Heart O’ Texas Speedway produced a locked down racing surface that produced a lot of exciting action. As the speeds escalated during the evening, so did the severity of crashes. Through the heats, B-Main, and A-Main, several cars flipped including Bud Hanna while battling for position during the B-Main; thus ending his night prematurely. His son, Josh Hanna, was also relegated to the B-Main and managed to hold onto the final transfer position with a 4th place finish.
The younger Hanna then had to start 18th of the 20 in the A-Main. He would move up a few positions early through several restarts but nearly spun exiting turn 4 that sent him to the back of the pack. After a few more cautions from some spectacular crashes, Josh was able to take advantage of the restarts and move his way back up through the field. At the end of the night Josh held onto a 10th place finish with no more than 14 remaining cars left at the end of the night.
The SCP Polymers Racing Team will travel to the Sprint Series of Texas’ next event in Abilene, TX on May 7th.
