Unzicker tops MARS field at Spoon River Speedway

Making a mid-week start with the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries, Ryan Unzicker invaded Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Tuesday afternoon for the third annual One for the Road.

In a stout field of 42 Late Models, Unzicker secured his spot into the $22,022-to-win A-Main with a third-to-second run in his heat. Clawing forward one position in the 50-lap feature, Ryan raced to a fifth-place finish, which came behind Bobby Pierce, Frank Heckenast Jr., Shannon Babb, and Ricky Thornton Jr.

Back in action on Saturday, Unzicker traveled to Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.) for the MARS Racing Series-sanctioned Tom Knowles Memorial. With a heat race win placing him on the front row for the feature, Ryan outran Jason Feger in the 30-lapper to claim $3,000 and his sixth win of the 2022 campaign. His fifth career victory with the series came ahead of Feger, Bob Gardner, McKay Wenger, and Tucker Finch.
