Garett Goodwin
GOODWIN SCORES FIRST PODIUM FINISH
After being rained out last weekend, this marked the first race of the season for GGR. The team drove down to Plymouth Speedway for their Saturday night event. This being Garett’s first race since last August, Garett was itching to get back behind the wheel of the 83 machine.
Straight from the trailer, Goodwin and the 83 crew were fast in practice. With Garett’s pill draw number being 12, that set him on the outside pole for the heat race. Green flag dropped and Goodwin was battling for the lead. After making contact with the infield tire, Goodwin was able to save the car and finish the heat race in 2nd place, putting him into the A-Main event.
The A-Main came rolling around with Goodwin starting in the 3rd position. Green flag dropped and Garett jumped to the lead with driver Cody Williams fighting for position. Goodwin dropped back to 2nd but wasn’t far behind. After a few caution flags, Goodwin and Williams battled for the lead in the 20 lap event. Falling short, Goodwin was able to bring home his first Dirt Career Podium with a 2nd place finish.
“I’m super proud of the way we finished tonight”, said Goodwin, “our car was really fast right from the start and we were able to bring home a great finish to start the season off”.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors and fans for their support. Our next race will be at Plymouth Speedway on June 1st.
