Goodwin Captures Top 10 Finish in Truck Debut
#29 Garett Goodwin made his debut in the ASA Midwest Truck Tour at Wisconsin International Raceway (WIR) on May 15 for the SCAG Power Equipment 40. WIR is one of the toughest tracks on the Midwest Tour, especially for a rookie driver making his truck debut. Garett took the green flag starting in the 10th position for the 40 lap feature event. After avoiding a few incidents that occurred in front of the #29 Quinlan Inc/K1 Race Gear Ford F-150 , Garett continued on to finish in the 9th position to clinch his first top 10 of the season on his ASA Midwest Tour debut. Even though that the gearing of the truck was off and that the front sway bar was not working correctly, Garett managed the best he could.
"The Truck handled good for my first race. The front sway bar wasn't adjusted correctly, so it was causing the truck to roll over on the right front. We didn't have the speed we wanted for the feature but all and all, I am proud of the our finish and the crew and I learned a lot", says Goodwin.
We would like to thank K1 Race Gear, Quinlan Inc, DriverWebsites.com, SponsorTheTrucks.com, Hole-In-One Motorsports, Forkers Lawn Service, Shirley's Truck and Tanker Wash, Team Automotive, and all our fans for their support. Garett would also like to thank Sevey Motorsports, the whole 8529 crew, Chad Starbuck, Chris Weir, Nick Barstad, and Chris Svoboda for all their help and support.
Next up on the SCAG Power Equipment Truck Tour is Friday night on June 3rd at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL.
