Back To School
May 27th, the Legend Racing team brought the #9 sprinter to the Pillager Area Charter School. Greg (crew chief) is a math and shop instructor at the school. He was excited to show the students how many of the skills he has been trying to teach in the classroom are applied by the Legend Racing Team on a regular basis. The wild-looking winged sprint car was a great teaching tool. The students were excited to use math formulas to calculate gear ratios, spring rates, and shock rod pressures. Geometry and science also came into play as the team posed questions to the kids about how wing angles might affect the car and how to balance tires. Jared, Matt, Jim, and Greg were all on hand to answer all kinds of inquiries. Overall, it was a fun afternoon for the students, staff, and crew. Legend Racing wants to thank the students and staff of Pillager Area Charter School for welcoming us into their facility.
