Sprint Cars of New England
Labor Day Weekend Races
The JRC Transportation Sprint Cars of New England started the holiday weekend at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT. With seventeen sprint cars in the pit area it was setting up to be a good night of fast racing action. The series car count has been rising with some new teams joining us to get some laps before the 2023 season starts. The heat race action was good and driver to like the track conditions. Chris Donnelly would take the win in FK Rod Ends Heat Race 1 over Clay Dow and Kadyn Berry. O'Reilly Auto Parts Heat Race 2 was won by Matt Hoyt followed by Caleb Lamson and Jake Williams. For the feature lineup after the invert pill of 2 was pulled it would be Clay Dow and Caleb Lamson leading the field to green. The race would be red flagged for a very violent crash by past series champion and crowd favorite Will Hull. Hull was able to walk away from the crash but his race car was not so lucky. Everyone at SCoNE is glad that Will was not injured during the wreck. He is sore but able to walk away. Once the race resumed it was Clay Dow leading all 25 laps for his second win of 2022. Followed by Chris Donnelly, Matt Hoyt, Luke Greenwood, and Caleb Lamson your top five.
Sunday it was off to Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven , VT. SCoNE had 20 sprint cars in the pit area for their event. The races at Devil's Bowl usually bring some teams from other series that are based within a couple hours of the track.
The FK Rod Ends Heat Race 1 was won by Cory Sparks followed by Matt Tanner and Floyd Billiington. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Heat Race 2 was won by Chris Donnelly followed by Jordan Fornwalt and Jake Williams. The invert number for this race was 3 and the field was set with Floyd Billington and Jake Williams leading them to green. On the start Tanner got a good jump on the bottom and got out front and never looked back. The race had one caution flag for a couple of cars who made contact in turns three and four. Tanner would lead all twenty five laps to get another win at Devil's Bowl Speedway. Followed by Chris Donnelly , Cory Sparks , Scott Holcomb, and Floyd Billiington your top five.
