Starks Rebuilding 360 Sprint Car for Skagit Speedway Season Opener This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (May 8, 2023) – Trey Starks has had to wait an extra week for the Skagit Speedway season opener, which was delayed by a week after rain hammered the region last weekend.

Starks will invade the high-banked oval in Alger, Wash., this Saturday in the 360ci winged sprint car division.

“I’m not setting out to run for points in the 360 class,” he said. “I won’t make all the races. It’s pretty much go to win and get some laps, which is good practice for the 410. We’re also gearing up for the Summer Nationals, which is the big 360 race in July.”

Starks captured the Summer Nationals at Skagit Speedway last summer, marking one of his division-best five feature triumphs.

This week will be busy leading up to Saturday’s race as Starks and his family will be repairing their 360 sprint car after sustaining damage while leading the most recent feature.

“We had to cut a section of tube out of the lower frame rail and put a new upright into it,” he said. “We’ve done more extensive repairs. It shouldn’t be too big of a deal. UPS just showed up with the frame tubing for fixing that car. We’ll get it fixed this week and be ready.”

Starks drove from 24th to win the Skagit Speedway season opener last year.
