Starks Posts Four Wins to Highlight Another Strong Season With Gobrecht Motorsports

Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Nov. 20, 2018) – Trey Starks scored four feature triumphs to highlight his 2018 campaign.
The Gobrecht Motorsports driver has earned multiple wins during each of the last four years and six of the last seven seasons. Arguably the biggest triumph of this season was his final trip to Victory Lane when he won the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek opener at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. It marked his second straight Speedweek victory at the track dating back to the finale in 2017, making Starks only the sixth driver to ever win back-to-back Speedweek races at Williams Grove Speedway.
“That was a huge win for our team,” he said. “Winning a Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek event is a big accomplishment and to win each of the last two years speaks volumes of the team’s hard work. There are a ton of talented drivers in Central Pennsylvania and who tackle Speedweek each summer so whenever you can have any success during Speedweek it means a lot.”
Starks led the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek standings through the first four races before finishing a career-best sixth after recording one feature win, three top fives and five top 10s during the 10-race event.
Starks also produced his first career win at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., and he swept a weekend with the USCS Series by picking up victories at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Ga., and at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park in Blue Ridge, Ga.
“Winning for the first time at Port Royal was awesome,” he said. “That’s a great track where we’ve had a lot of success, but just came up short a bunch of times. To finally get over that hurdle and drive into Victory Lane was really special.
“It was great to sweep the weekend in Georgia, too. We changed things up and raced close to Jeff’s base so it was a lot of fun to have a successful weekend.”
Other highlights this season include top 10s during the Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Pa.; the Outlaw Energy Showdown at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash.; the Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway; the Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway; and a fifth-place finish during the Sage Fruit Ultimate ASCS Challenge presented by Searsboro Telephone Company at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to name a few.
He also led 14 laps of the famed Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio.
“Looking back on the year there were a lot of great moments,” Starks said. “Of course it’s easy to pinpoint where you had misfortune or made a mistake that cost a great finish, but that’s just racing.
