Matt Wood Racing – Shane Bowers Hired as Crew Chief!
(Bill W) March 30, 2015 – The Matt Wood Racing #17w team is proud to welcome Shane Bowers on board as crew chief for 2015! Bowers will team with driver Bryan Clauson, and the pair should be a formidable combination. The team plans on running the National Sprint League and Knoxville Raceway schedules as well as other Midwestern events.
Bowers is a native of New Oxford, Pennsylvania, where his love of sprint cars began. His career began with PJ Chesson, and he has also worked with Brian Paulus, Tim Shaffer, Donny Schatz, Jason Meyers, Stevie Smith and Kerry Madsen.
“We are very excited to have Shane joining our 2015 efforts,” says car owner Matt Wood. “We think Shane will be a perfect fit to our team. Shane will bring the stability and leadership our team needs to win races this season!”
The team is gearing up for the National Sprint League’s inaugural race at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, April 11.
