Arnold Storms to Seventh at Valley Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Friday night at the Valley Speedway, Sedalia, MO native, Miranda Arnold, charged from mid pack in the ‘B’ to a seventh place finish in the feature during the ASCS Warrior Region’s season finale.
The night didn’t get off to a desirable start for the lady racer who had battled horrific luck during much of the 2011 season, a loose handling racecar saw Miranda battle her Mid Mo Auto Sales/Impact Signs, Awnings, & Wraps backed entry to a sixth place finish in her heat, and force her into the B.
In the B, her car came to life as Arnold was able to charge from her seventh place starting spot, and made a late race pass to takeover the third spot as she battled Kyle Bellm for second, and transferred into the feature event.
Arnold rolled off for the feature in the 19th position with 25 laps to work her way towards the front of the stout main event.
Early in the feature it was apparent that Arnold was strong as she quickly worked her way into the top-ten by the 8th lap putting her car anywhere necessary on the track as she was marred deep in traffic.
With a few yellows late in the race, Miranda was able to utilize restarts to pick off a few spots.
The last three laps saw Arnold hook up in an entertaining battle with Jonathan Cornell for the sixth spot, with Cornell fending Arnold off, and she ended the night with an impressive 7th place finish.
“My team did an awesome job tonight,” said Arnold. “Early in the night the car wasn’t very good, and that set us back. They worked hard at it and the car was awesome in the feature, and we charged from 19th to seventh.”
As the Warrior Region’s season comes to a close, Arnold will finish with a 9th place finish in the championship standings.
Miranda would like to thank Mid-Mo Auto Sales, Impact Signs, Awnings & Wraps / impact4800.com, Alliance Performance Group, ButlerBuilt, K&N Performance, Champion Oil, Vortex Race Products, Hooker Harness, Don’s Truck Towing, Hoosier Tire, Fastenal, Ralph’s Sandblasting, Ti64, Weld Wheels, Buso’s AA Muffler Shop, State Fair Moving and Storage, Xtreme Fuel Sticks, and CIP Race Bodies for their continued support in 2011.
