Haudenschild 7th in Nationals C Main

PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the 54th Annual Knoxville Nationals over the last week in Knoxville, IA, Jac Haudenschild and his Destiny Motorsports ended their week with a seventh place finish in the Saturday night C main.

With rain pushing Haudeschild’s qualifying night from Wednesday night to Friday night, the Wooster, OH driver went out dead last in time trials, and timed in 34th fastest with 53 cars checked into the pit area.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, ‘The Wild Child’ was on the hammer, as he laid down some of the quickest laps of the night as he picked up the win over Shane Stewart, and moved on to the preliminary night feature event, where he started in the 17th spot.

When the green flag dropped and the race got underway, Haudenschild searched around the Knoxville Raceway looking to work his way forward.

On the 12th lap, Haudenschild spun to a stop, and he opted to take his machine back to the pit area as he was credited with a 23rd place finish.

After the point totals were tallied, Haudenschild sat just outside the Top-50 in points, meaning he would be in action for the Saturday morning program.

Winning his heat race, “The Wild Child’ lined up on the front row of the feature event with the Top-10 tagging the back of the Saturday night C main.

In a feature that had an old school feel to it, Haudenschild found himself in a tight battle with the likes of Danny Lasoski and Steve Kinser, while Jack Dover was also in the mix.

Getting into the second spot in the closing stages of the race, Haudenschild’s engine would expire in a big way, but he was able to coast around the speedway and finish in the third spot, putting himself in the seventh row for the C Main later that night.

The start of the C Main got off to a wild start as a huge wreck broke out, but fortunately, the Wooster, OH driver was able to avoid it, and continue on.

After a lengthy red flag, the race came to life, and Haudenschild would cross the stripe in the seventh spot, bringing his 2014 Knoxville Nationals to a close.
