The Wild Child Second at Front Row Challenge

PETERSEN MEDIA: Jac Haudenschild has some history at the Front Row Challenge that takes place at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA in August, as he took the challenge and won from dead last in 1999. Fast Forward to last night, and the Wooster, OH driver picked up a second place finish as he was in action with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Starting in the fourth spot of his heat race, ‘The Wild Child’, took a liking to the surface above the cushion, and ran his way up to the second spot, putting himself third in points, and in the redraw.

Finding himself with the three pill, Haudenschild was scheduled to start in the second row, but as he did in 1999, Brad Loyet opted to take the Front Row Challenge, and Haudenschild moved up a row to lead the field to green.

When the green dropped, Haudenschild was hard on the throttle, and shot out to a sizeable lead aboard his Destiny Motorsports/MonDak Portables/Renegade Renals No. 9W entry.

A lap six caution bunched the field back up, but again, Haudenschild flexed his muscle as he worked his way out to a near two second lead, as he found himself in lapped traffic, with 2013 race winner, Brian Brown, chasing after him.

Amidst thick traffic, Haudenschild got ran up on a slow moving Johnny Herrera, and in doing so, Brown was able to use a huge run and take over the top spot, as Haudenschild now ran in the second spot on the 15th lap.

The final 14 laps saw Haudenschild do what he could to chase after Brown, but on this night, the Wooster, OH driver would take a strong second place finish, after a rough 360 Knoxville Nationals.

In action on Friday and Saturday at the Knoxville Raceway, Haudenschild and company fought mechanical gremlins, that saw the team time in 50th fastest, and finish 15th in the B Main during their qualifying night.

During the Saturday night program, Haudenschild kicked his night off in the D Main, where he charged from his 16th starting spot to finish eighth, and transfer to the C main.

In the C, Haudenschild started in the 24th spot, and his night came to an end with a 15th place finish.

Sunday night saw the team compete in the Third Annual Capitani Classic, and they still fought gremlins as they struggled in time trials, before their night ended with a 19th place finish in one of the twin B mains.

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Renegade Rentals, Triple X Race Components, Boss Signs and Graphics, Rens Trucking, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, Tony Stewart Racing, GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Kistler Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Jac Haudenschild and the Destiny Motorsports team will now set the focus on the 54th Annual FVP Knoxville Nationals as they will qualify on Wednesday. Just like last week, all four nights of action will be streamed LIVE on TheCushion.Com.
