Bryce Nelson Scores Season Opener in Beginner Box

The 2022 Red Bluff Outlaws Championship Season kicked off on Saturday Night inside the Pauline Davis Pavilion in Red Bluff, CA. This marks the 41st year of competition for the Red Bluff Outlaws.

In total 35 drivers signed in to compete in the season opening Points Race for the Beginner Box Class.

The day began with Deegan Pochop of Gerber, CA setting Fast Time for the 1st time in his Career. Pochop turned a lap time of 10.911 seconds to earn the Fast Time Honors in Qualifying behind the wheel of his Ignite Chassis, 2T Cattle #06d entry.

Heat Race #1 saw Tulare, CA driver Tyce Domingos earn the Heat Race Win in his Luke Matthews Trucking, Coelho Meat Co. #9d entry.

Heat Race #2 saw Merced, CA's Bryce Nelson pilot his SRT Karts, FND Motorsports #4lilb entry to victory.

Heat Race #3 was claimed by Redding, CA driver Parker Pedrotti in his Pedrotti Materials, Michael Call Racing #5 entry. It was the 1st career Heat Race win of the young drivers career.

Heat Race #4 saw Yuba City, CA driver Lily Irby pick up the win in her Kim's Country Kitchen, Millennium Kart Racing #21L entry.

The C-Feature was won by Quincy, CA driver Hunter Wood.

The B-Feature was won by Penn Valley, Ca driver Lucas Bonham.

Trophy Dash competition returned to the Red Bluff Outlaws, but this time with a twist. Now the top six transfers to the Main Event will duke it out in a six lap dash to determine the front three rows of the night's 20 Lap Feature Event. The Trophy Dash was claimed by the #4lilb of Bryce Nelson. The Dash win was the first of Bryce's career at Red Bluff.

The "Harbaugh Performance Engines" A-Main Event saw Bryce Nelson pick up his 2nd career Red Bluff Outlaws Victory in his #4lilb entry. Bryce will now head into the second weekend of racing as the Championship Point Leader in the Beginner Box Class. At the end of the season, the Track Champion will receive a brand new LO206 engine courtesy of the presenting sponsor Harbaugh Performance Engines. Finishing 2nd in the Main Event was Braxton Moniz from Marysville, CA in his Ignite Chassis, Rockstart Trucking #22w. Finishing 3rd was the #06d of Deegan Pochop from Gerber, CA. Pochop had an excellent start to the season setting Fast Time and finishing on the Podium.

This weekend we will be back with a Double-Header race weekend. Saturday, October 29th Points Race #2 will be on the docket. Then we return on Sunday, October 30th for the Annual Tyler Wolf Memorial (Points Race #3).
