Jeremy McCune Cleared To Compete At Grizzly Nationals

SHEPHERD, Mont. (July 5, 2017) After receiving second and third degree burns to his legs and ankles during a race in Missouri in May, 2017 the news came down this week that Jeremy McCune will be able to return to competition behind the wheel of his Finish Line Bar No. 0j at this weekend’s Grizzly Nationals at Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, Mont.
“I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be able to race again. Just to have my life somewhat back to normal with work as well as racing has been big. I can’t sit still and that’s been my biggest struggle with this injury is having to stay put,” stated McCune.
Even with the green light to race, Jeremy is still having to take some precautions with his return.
“I’m still nursing these skin grafts so I still have to be careful with how long I’m in the car but we’ve been going over everything to make sure that I’m set up in the car to where I won’t cause any issues with my legs, but I can’t thank everyone enough for their help. From time to money, or even just checking in to make sure I was doing okay. It really means a lot. I especially have to thank my Girlfriend and my Mom for being here to help me as well as Kevin "Slim" Hansen for coming up and helping me get the cars back together and ready to go.”
Jeremy will be joined at Belgrade by his son, Damon McCune, who drives the Pirate Motorsports No. 77 for car owner, Mark Sweet, along with having a second car of his own on track with Mindy McCord behind the wheel.
The 2nd annual Grizzly Nationals at Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, Mont. goes green at 7:00 P.M. (MDT) on both Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8. Tickets are sold at the event starting at 1:00 P.M. (MDT).
Admission for adults is $20 (per day) and kids 12 and under get into the grandstands for free. Grandstands open at 5:00 P.M. (MDT). The Friday card will include Street Stocks, while Saturday will feature Super Stocks as the second division of action.
